Kolad in Maharashtra is a flourishing village blessed with ample greenery and natural beauty. The majestic Sahyadris provides a stunning backdrop. The Rocky Mountains, valleys and waterfalls are straight out of a picture postcard.

Kolad is famed for plenty of waterfalls, its rugged topography and Rocky Mountains. The trekking trails in Kolad offer medium challenges to adventurous trekkers and the trekking during the Monsoon has a special charm, making it a unique feature of Kolad. Kolad offers so many excellent adventurous activities that enable oneself to replenish one’s acquaintance with nature.

The greatest attraction of this charming village is the ‘Kundalika River’, which is one among the fastest flowing river in South India. Water released from the nearby dams makes the river ever flowing. Kundalika riverbeds in Kolad are ideal locations for adventurous activities.

Attractions and Places to Visit:-

Kundalika River offers a great opportunity to experience white water River rafting in an exciting 14 km stretch of rapids, which provide one and a half hour of white water rafting.

Ghosala Fort situated on Roha Hills is an architectural splendor of the 16th century. There are two temples and a Dargah in the fort. Various structures of the Ghosala Fort include prison, chambers.

Sutarwadi Lake a paradise for bird watchers, situated in the backdrop of the majestic Sahyadris, offers a pristine and calm ambiance. Views of the sunrise and sunset are magnificent from the shore of Kuda famous for the Buddhist caves is a small village placed at the fabulous Janjeera hills near Kolad. These rocks cut caves, dating back to as early as 6th century BC are classic examples of Buddhist art.

Tamhini Ghat Waterfalls should be visited to get a cool and refreshing experience of the many waterfalls and breathtaking views.

Other Attractions and Activities – Bhira Dam, Dholwal Dam, Tala Fort, Kanal Avenue, Gaimukh, Trekking, Rappling, Para sailing.
