Alibag, Kihim and the Other Beaches Around Mumbai

Alibag, close to the city of Mumbai has often been described as the playground of the famous and the rich. Alibag is a beach destination. It is very close to Mumbai, but it rarely becomes crowded here. That’s certainly a delight because too many beach resorts in India become extremely crowded, particularly in the peak holiday season or during the weekends. You will find many premium properties here as well. These are the main reason why so many rich and famous people select Alibag for their weekend breaks, as they slip away from their busy schedules for a day or two.

There is of course the Alibag beach here. But the good thing is that, there are plenty of other attractive beaches around Alibag as well. Take for instance Kihim. You are sure to fall in love instantly with Kihim. There are a lot of trees and almost zero construction work along the coast line. What you will find are groves, flowers and a lot of butterflies. The Kihim beach will certainly rank among the most pristine beaches anywhere in mainland India at least. But Kihim is not the only one. There are others too.

The Other Beach Resorts Near Alibag

You should also visit the Akshi beach. This is much like Kihim, clean and without too many people. Some other beaches close to Alibag are Mandwa, Kashid, Revadanda, Nandgaon, Nagao, and the Korlai beach. You should at least visit some of these beaches on your holiday. These beach resorts are all located close to each others, and so, you should be able to cover them all in a day. One good idea would be to visit them all on the first day of your break. This gives you the opportunity to return to the one you loved the most on your second day, and spend some good time there. The extra time will let you unwind and relax. Just select a cozy corner for your friends or family.

It’s great if you have your own vehicle. However, most people visiting Alibag take the catamaran or the ferry from the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Don’t worry if you don’t have your automobile. You can hire one at Alibag to visit the nearby beaches.
