Varsoli, Just a Hop Away From Alibag

Take a boat ride from the Gateway of India in Mumbai and you can visit many fantastic beaches that are all located one after the other. These beaches are located very close to each other. And so, you’ll be able to visit them all in one single trip. Alibag is of course the most popular one. But it can get quite crowded here during the weekends. If you are somebody who prefers a quieter beach, then you can head to Varsoli. It might be just a short distance away from Alibag, but it is a world of sharp contrast. You won’t find any street side vendors selling Konkani delicacies. The beach at Alibag is made of black sand, while the one you will find in Varsoli is a beautiful golden white.

Varsoli is just a small village where you will find thick vegetation of casurina and coconut trees. Very few people visit Varsoli. Most of them from Alibag would visit Akshi, Nagaon, Kashid, and Murud, not realizing that the most pristine of them all is at Varsoli. That’s good news for this small village of course, because it has been able to retain much of its beauty. Because of fewer people, the sea water and the golden sand of the beach are always cleaner. You will be able to enjoy the sunset better as well.

Nature will always be at your doorstep here. That’s a major reason why you should certainly visit Varsoli, and perhaps even stay here for a couple of days. A lot of people who come here once end up visiting again and again!

There is no peak season to visit this beach resort. You could come any time of the year, but the monsoon with all the clouds playing magic on the waves is certainly special.

Yes, there aren’t as many hotels or resorts like Alibag. But that’s better in a way because you can expect l less commercialization of the place. However you will still find a few resorts and home stays in Varsoli. There are mostly basic accommodations. But you will find a few premium properties too.
