Arnala, Just a Hop Away From Mumbai

The Arnala beach is located very close to Mumbai, up north, between the city and Daman. It’s an unassuming little paradise. Arnala is so close to Mumbai that you will be able to get away from the city after work and reach there before your dinner. It’s just the perfect place for a short trip. You don’t need a big weekend for a vacation to this beach resort.

Of course, there are plenty of other beaches around Mumbai, and there are some very good ones slightly away from the city as well that can be visited on a short vacation. And many of them are worth visiting too. So why would you want to go to Arnala?

Top Reasons for Visiting Arnala

For a number of reasons actually! Firstly, because of its location! As mentioned before, Arnala is so close to Mumbai that you could go there absolutely anytime. In other words, you don’t have to wait for the so called “bara weekend”. In fact, if you leave home really early from Mumbai, you might even come back late in the night in the same day itself – yes, Arnala is that close. Of course, it is always better to spend at least one night there to unwind and see the place better.

Secondly, it’s not in your tourist circuit. This means that even if you go to Arnala on a weekend, you won’t be seeing a huge crowd. This is certainly a huge relief for a lot of people who don’t like the crowds all that much. So you can walk peacefully in the “chowpatti” of Arnala and enjoy the natural beauties of the beach. There won’t be too many vendors or people to bother you.

Here’s the third reason. There are some wonderful things to see around Arnala. Take for instance the fort that dates back to the times of the Portuguese. Do make it a point to see the fort’s ramparts, walls, reservoir and temple. You might also want to see some other forts in the region. There is also the St. Peters Church, which is quite close.

There are some very good hotels and resorts in Arnala offering amenities fit for modern-day travelers. There are parks for kids, swimming pools, and even open-air discs in some of them. So you’ll always have a lot to do here, if somehow you manage to get bored of the sun, sand and the surf.
