Vengurla – Goa of the Past

Vengurla today is what Goa used to be about 50 years back. No, it’s not a joke. Just look at the terrain of this beach town, and you will be convinced about its tourist draw and potential. And in some ways, this place is actually better than what Goa was about. For instance, there are three islands a little way off the coast that are a paradise for bird watchers. If you are an ornithologist, or if you love to chase these winged beauties with your camera, then you are sure to have a field day here.

What Makes Vengurla Such a Top Draw?

Consider this! There are coconut, mango and jackfruit groves all around that makes this beach town absolutely green. It looks virgin and pristine. There are several small hills dotting the landscape, and many of them begin right from the shoreline. The beach itself is very clean, and so is the water. You will definitely love the natural foam. Vengurla is not among the more popular beach resorts in Maharashtra. And so, you will not find too many people on the beach, even during the weekends. That’s a great reason to visit this place for those who are seeking some solitude.
