Manori and Uttan – Two Peaceful Heavens, Very Close to Mumbai

The city of Mumbai, the financial hub of India, is not all about skyscrapers, chaotic streets, busy markets that are always frenzied, and people running to and from work. There is another side of Mumbai, a greener and naturally beautiful side, which remains hidden from the public eye. Yes thankfully it exists, even though most of us fail to realize it. Take for instance the twin beach resorts of Manori and Uttan. These twin beaches and the surrounding areas are even to this day untouched by industrialization, urbanization and expansion. They are located in northern Mumbai in Dharavi Bhet, close to the Malad railway station. Manori is just 15 minutes away from Marve beach in Malad on a ferry.

Manori can be a wonderful weekend retreat. The beach, sleepy villages, and the creek offer a refreshing change from the busy city life of Mumbai. You will even see some Portuguese era buildings with their unique architecture. If you want to do nothing and just sunbathe on the beach, then head out to Manori.
