Rohida Fort

If you are a keen student of history, you will certainly be amazed by the intriguing games played by  the legendary Maratha leader Shivaji Bhosale with his biggest adversary, the Mughal kings in the then Maratha-land from 1635 to 1680. Physical possession of a fort, in those days, represented military power. Capturing it meant the end of it. Capturing and releasing hold of forts also represented winning or losing a battle. And Shivaji was superbly proficient in practicing this war game. Yes, sometimes Shunaji Maharaj did lose a battle and the fort with it. But in almost all instances, he won them back through his courage, leadership and strategies.
