It’s Time for a Peaceful and Relaxing Holiday at Sasawane

Sasawane is a small and sleepy village of rice farmers and fishing families on the west coast of India. So what’s special about Sasawane? There are surely thousands of such other villages spread across the country. Here’s it – Sasawane has one of the best beautiful beaches you will find on the Arabian Sea. So if you are from Mumbai or somewhere close to the city, then you should definitely come here at least once. We are sure that you will keep returning. You just cannot have enough of Sasawane.

Sasawane is very close to Alibag, an important beach resort close to Mumbai. Many tourists who are at Alibag on their weekend break go for beach hopping and land up at Sasawane. And needless to say, most of them are thrilled with Sasawane. It is in stark contrast to Alibag. In Alibag, particularly during the weekend, there are often too many food stalls and shops that come up almost overnight. And it might seem that the entire Mumbai crowd has arrived on the shore to spend their weekend.

Sasawane is in stark contrast to this. Here you will find complete peace and quiet. The beach is empty. There is no vendor to bother you. The tree-lined coast is a welcome change from the brick and mortar, and the rampant commercialism that you’ll find at most popular beach resorts.

Where Do You Stay At Sasawane

But make no mistake about it. There are indeed some very good staying options here. There are some guest houses and farm houses. You will also find a few resorts. Tent accommodation is also an option you could try. It can be a memorable experience if you haven’t stayed in a tent before. At Sasawane, you will get all the comforts that you find at the more popular beach resorts, minus the crowds. You should also see the bungalow of Late Mr. Karmarkar, the famous sculptor. You’ll find his works displayed here.

There is another fantastic beach close to Sasawane. It is the Awas beach. It is best known for the clean beach and the Nagoba Mandir. A lot of tourists come to the temple after Diwali, when there is a bug festival. You might want to visit Awas from Sasawane as well.
