Beach Hopping and Temple Darshan at Hedvi-Ganapatipule

Do you want to get away from it all and spend a couple of days in complete seclusion? You don’t have to look beyond Hedvi. This is a small village on the Arabian Sea. The good thing about Hedvi is that, you’ll have complete peace here. You will have a small cove to give you company. There is hardly anybody in this black sandy beach. Even the mobile phone coverage isn’t that good here. Thus, you will be truly cut off from your world. But you are only a few kilometers away from Velneshwar, Guhagar, Ganpatipule, and other popular destinations that are close enough.

The only visitors to Hedvi are the pilgrims who come to the many temples in the region. Yes, some of them indeed land up in the beach, but if you compare the crowds to some other beach resorts in India, you’ll conclude that it’s Hedvi is always calmer. Just avoid coming here during the Ganesh festval.

In fact, the beach here is an interesting one. Guhagar-Velneshwar and Ganapatipule is located on two sides of Hedvi. These places have white sandy beaches. The black stretch of sand in between is Hedvi. It makes a nice contrast. But do remember one thing. The beach at Hedvi is not the best one for swimming, as there are rocky growths everywhere. If you must go for a swim, then pick the farthest end of the beach.
