Dhobi Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is among the most prominent hill stations in the state of Maharashtra. Thousands of tourists come here every year from Mumbai, Pune and other cities of the state. You will find the Dhobi waterfall on the same road that connects Petit road with old Mahabaleshwar. There is another way to reach this place. You can go through the crossing that connects Lodwick Point and the Elphinstone Point. The roaring sound of the falls will hit your ears even before you can see it. And once you are there, you will certainly be thrilled with the sight in front of you. Water cascades down from a great height and goes into the Koyna Valley below to meet the Koyna River.

 

There are rocks on both sides of the gushing stream. Constant flow of water makes them appear green. You will love it if you are in Mahabaleshwar in the monsoon. But the Dhobi falls looks great in the other times of the year too. Being so close to Mahabaleshwar, thousands of tourists come here round the year. It has become an extremely popular tourist spot.

 

How to reach: Mahabaleshwar can be reached easily on a bus or train. Regular buses leave Mumbai, Pune and other cities. If you are taking the train, you must get down at Wathar and take a taxi from there. You can drive to the falls as well.
