If you are from Mumbai, Pune or Kolhapur, you can certainly visit the ThoseGhar waterfalls on any weekend. It is located in Satara district of south Maharashtra. You will definitely like the trip. ThoseGhar is among the most beautiful waterfalls in India.

ThoseGhar is located a mere 20 kilometers from Satara City. You can say that this is the starting place of the Konkan coast. It is not a small waterfall. In fact, at 1000 feet, it ranks among the biggest waterfall in the state. The rainy season is always special. This is when most people come to see the fall.

A new platform has been constructed here that allows the visitors to stand and take a good long look at the waterfall. Several cascades make ThoseGhar very attractive to look at. The dense forest cover and mist makes it more interesting. Standing on the platform, you can even see where the water is falling finally. You will however not be able to see this in the monsoon as there is too much water then.

How to reach: Take a train or a bus from Mumbai, Pune or Kolhapur to visit Satara City first. ThoseGhar is a small village. There is no direct communication from these cities. You can hire a taxi to reach the waterfall from Satara.

You won’t find hotels in ThoseGhar or resorts in ThoseGhar. Accommodation is however available at Satara City, which is very close.
